Mickey's cabinet Percival the Red Knightstand has been featured in the Reader's Gallery of Fine Woodworking.
“This bedside cabinet was inspired by an old smoking stand McCann grew up with, which “made the perfect nightstand except for the fact it had a hole in the center of the top where an ashtray used to be.” With that inspiration and the desire to do some curved veneer work, McCann created this cabinet during his second year at College of the Redwoods. ”
Mickey's cabinet Percival the Red Knightstand received honorable mention at this year's AWFS convention in Las Vegas!
Percival was also selected by Fine Woodworking Magazine's art director Mike Pekovich for his lecture at the fair on photographing finished work.
Mickey will have work featured in an exhibition in Maine later this summer. Here's an excerpt from the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship site about the show:
"Regeneration: Fine Woodworkers Under 30 is a juried exhibition co-produced by Fine Woodworking and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship. The purpose of this show is to encourage the growth of the next generation of woodworkers and advance the careers of those with exceptional promise."
