Antique French Desk, Restoration

     This desk was in sad shape when taken into the shop.  The Mahogany veneer had been flaking off for years.  What was left was glued back on and what was missing was carefully replaced with some veneer cut from an old plank of mahogany in the shop. One piece of the ormolu trim was missing so a new piece was cast using a polyester resin then covered with metallic leaf to match the remaining pieces.
